Cute Valentine's Day crafts are the perfect way to fill your home with reminders of love. So, making these adorable crafts will be a fun way to celebrate the holiday. Sending love letters is one way to show how much you care, so why not create personalized ones from wood that you can display in your home? Lauren from LF Rustics, LLC, who goes by @lfrustics on TikTok, created love letters from wood blocks to decorate your home for Valentine's Day. This DIY is easy to recreate; the materials can be bought at a craft store, and it doesn't require specialized materials to complete.

To recreate this DIY decor project, you'll need wood planks that serve as the base — A four pack of 6-by-4-inch unfinished wood rectangles costs $23 at Michaels. Lauren also uses wood stain and white paint, which are about $11 and $6 at Michaels, respectively.You'll need white paint for the envelope and either red or pink for the hearts. A pack of wood hearts is $5 atJoann's.All in all, it costs about $50 to make four custom wood block love letters. Some materials you likely already have and need for this project include paintbrushes, glue, a ruler, and sandpaper. Finally, Lauren uses clear vinyl stickers to add a name and a message to the love letter. This detail can vary in cost depending on the stickers and method used.

This project is easy enough to do with kids or for a couple to do together to celebrate the holiday. To make your love letters, start by applying the wood stain on the wood block and allow it to dry completely. Then, paint a thin layer of white paint. While the block is drying, if needed, you can paint the wood hearts pink or red. Once the white paint is completely dry, use the sandpaper to sand away small portions of the paint to givethe wood a weathered look.

Next, use a ruler to draw a line from the top corners to the center of the block to look like the top fold of an envelope. Then, glue one of the colored hearts where the two lines meet. Now, you can add clear vinyl stickers with a name and a message, such as "ps. I love you." to the wood blocks. These clear vinyls can be made on a Cricut machine. However, if you don't have a Cricut, you can use printable vinyl sticker paper, for example, one that has 20 sheets for $10 on Amazon. These can be used with a standard home printer. You can also use pre-printed Valentine's stickers or pre-printed letters to create your own message.Place your letters as is, as decor around the house, or turn them into customized gifts to show your love for someone.

It's important to note, however, that you shouldn't do pyrography over paint. Instead, burn the design into a clean and sanded piece of wood.

If you have more heavy-duty tools, you can use a wood router to create a slot or hole in the top of the wood block. This slot in the wood block can be used to hold paper letters that you can pass back and forth with a partner or family member.
